Diapers Make Me Happy

July 29, 2012

Actually, I should rephrase that. RIDICULOUSLY CHEAP DIAPERS make me happy.

If you know me well you know that I am a relatively frugal person. I don’t spend a lot of money on clothes, hair, nails, etc.  Just not my thing. About two years ago I started clipping coupons and got really into it. Saving money on items that we already buy was such an exciting thing to me. Now I am not going to lie — couponing can take a lot of time if you do it regularly and do it well. Before little A was born I would spend the majority of my Saturdays and Sundays prepping my trips for the week ahead. And I generally would shop at 3-5 stores depending on how the deals looked for the week. Once I found out I was pregnant last April, I immediately started couponing for wipes and diapers determined to have a stockpile ready to go when little A arrived. And it has worked really well so far. No last minute emergency trips to the store to buy diapers or wipes yet.  Although it is harder to coupon and run around to multiple stores with little A, I still coupon each week and know that we have definitely saved a lot of money through couponing. I plan to share some of my couponing tips in an upcoming post so stay tuned!

But I digress. Back to the topic of THIS post. RIDICULOUSLY cheap diapers. Yesterday I popped into Walgreens to browse the clearance items. I have always had very good luck purchasing clearance items at Walgreens especially when you combine a very good deal with a coupon. Low and behold in the diaper aisle I saw the orange clearance sticker near the Huggies Little Movers Slip-On diapers. $3.19 a pack! Marked down from $11.89. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I knew I had my stash of Huggies coupons with me too for $2.00 off per pack (from the July 8 Smart Source). Yep that’s right – I snagged 3 packs of Huggies Little Movers Slip -On diapers for $1.19 each plus tax (for a total of $3.57 for 3 packs of diapers)!

I was giddy with excitement.  I love saving money and getting great deals like this!  The cashier even shared in my excitement and couldn’t believe what a great deal I was getting. I have no idea if this deal was exclusive to my area or how long it will last but my recommendation is always to check out the clearance items and have your coupon stash with you!

Happy couponing friends!

I checked my Walgreens and used the same coupon! They were on sale in my store too – score! Thanks!!! How do you get multiples of the same coupon?

I am so glad you were able to get the deal! That is awesome. In addition to the ones I get in our Sunday paper, I have friends, family and co-workers who don’t use their coupons give me their inserts each week. I usually end up with 3-5 inserts each week which really helps.
